Friday, September 19th
Welp, week 4 was a bit unconventional. A few weeks prior, I had discovered that the North Georgia State fair was just about 30! minutes away from our house. Growing up, I knew many adults who entered their handmade projects into the fair but I had never understood the process. Additionally, I hadn't been to a fair in YEARS so I didn't even know if it still was a thing
After a plethora of investigating I discovered that the North Georgia State Fair accepted all kinds of adult creations, including knit good. With a bit of hesitation, I decided I would take a chance and enter my Anemone Shawl by Noble Thread.
I created this shawl back in the Spring and it had turned out BEAUTIFULLY! I took the shawl to the fair to be entered on the on September 14th and luckily, with no Big Ten games for my hubby to cover on September 19th, we ventured to the fair grounds to see how it did.
OK, yes, I of course see this beautiful shawl as a first place shawl, but I was thrilled to have received 2nd place in the Knit or Crochet Shawl Category! I have only been knighting for three years, and for lifetime knitters to see any beauty in my shawl was thrilling enough.
It was an absolutely beautiful evening and my hubby and I spent a few hours soaking in the sites and sounds of the fair together before another hectic Saturday.
Saturday, September 20th
Saturday I was still flying high from our fun fair date. Earlier in the week, I had a vision about how to utilize some of my scrap fabric and I couldn't have been more excited to give it a go!
THIS WAS 100% A CLUTCH IDEA! I'M OBSESSED! I used a bit smaller dimensions than what was called for in the Bow Clutch pattern, and it is absolutely the perfect size for a phone, keys, and card holder. The two fabrics together on the outside are so vibrant and fun!
I have already enjoyed taking this with me out to dinner and to the coffee shop. This will be an October staple FOR SURE!
