As I am sure you can tell by the title, Week 2's project was TailGATOR oriented!
September 7, 2019
I encourage you to go back and read my inspiration for my Week 1 Fanny Pack. Within that same bed-time brainstorming session, the idea of making a team spirited car organizer came to mind. Tailgating take a lot of organization, and who doesn't want more floor space?
*Special side note- this product hasn't actually been tested! It was sent in the same package that was lost, alongside the pretty bow clutch and fanny pack :-( However I do plan to make another soon!
The Pattern
It was a bit tough to find a beginner-worthy pattern for a car organizer! I finally came back around to one of the ones I originally found from SewCanShe. While it wasn't my favorite look, I thought this pattern was simple enough and forgiving enough for a beginner like me, but also could actually be useful for a tailgater. It turned out to be a very nice pattern- easy to follow but still allowing for as much customization as you need.
The Material
Again, this material came from Joann Fabric. I was pleasantly surprised at the nice selection of Florida Fabric at the very Georgia store, however finding mesh was a task! I think I walked around the fabric section six times before spotting the one tiny bolt of mesh they had.
The Project
I honestly was so pleased by how great this project turned out! The colors popped and the mesh was sturdy, yet still forgiving to hold multiple-sized items. Wouldn't you love having that in your car on gameday? I'm so sad that it didn't make it to its home, but I'm happy I bought enough fabric to make another soon!
